ServerBeach == Worthless

By Xeon Xai

Do not use Server Beach as a hosting service company.  Their system, from start to day 2 has been hell.  Trying to get everything setup is a hassle, I get forced to login to the plesk system almost everytime I do something, and their PHP setup is out of date.

Trying to setup emails took me 30 minutes, for just 10 emails, should have taken less than 10 minutes. And trying to insert the database, you don’t even want to know the hassles I had to go through.

And their website sucks so much, they can’t afford a better CSS designer or what?  Greedy bastards.  They need to make their site better, and their servers handle logins better.

If you want good service and a great hosting company, pick Media Temple instead.  Never once have I had any trouble with them.  It’s always worked for me.  But this shitty ServerBeach, hell, total, and utter HELL.

    Hello. I am sorry to hear about your experience with ServerBeach. It sounds like your troubles were with the Plesk Control Panel. ServerBeach uses a default Plesk install, with the files provided for php from Plesk. Since all of our installs are rpm based, upgrading php within the same major release version can be done through yum. The hassle of having to log into Plesk to make any changes is one of the limitations of using a control panel, and is outside of anything that can be done by ServerBeach.

    We would be more than happy to help work out the quirks of your control panel if you open a Hardware, Network, or Initial Configuration ticket, which are all free.
    (this does not include extreme customization of the MTA)

    I would be happy to research your account and trouble tickets and provide any assistance that I can in order to help correct the issues.

    At ServerBeach, you have a self-managed dedicated server while at MediaTemple you’re on a virtual shared system so the level of administration is a bit different.

    Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss this further.

    Thank you,
